What we do
Sadly, across the UK, more than 14 million* people live in poverty which includes over 4.5 million* children. The Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank helps those in our community who are struggling and just about managing to feed themselves from day to day. We do this by providing our guests with a minimum of three days’ food to support them in overcoming the crisis they face.

How this works...
In our local area, professionals working in care such as social workers and health visitors will identify people that are in crisis. They will issue them with a Food Bank voucher. This lets people receive a Food Bank parcel from us of three days’ nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food from our centre. If it is an entire family involved, the parcel may be bigger.
